Out of Pocket, Inc. is excited to announce auditions for Steve Martin’s award-winning comedy, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" to be directed by Jeff Siuda. The production will be staged at The MuCCC.

AUDITIONS will be held at St. Mark's and St. John's Episcopal Church, 1245 Culver Road, Rochester, on Sunday, February 11th at 6:30 pm. If CALLBACKS are necessary, they will be held on Monday, February 12th, same time, same place.

All those auditioning are asked to provide a resume and headshot, if available. The audition will also consist of cold readings from the script. Those auditioning should be familiar with the play if possible. A digital copy of the play is available; please request by emailing [email protected]

SYNOPSIS:
On one dizzying evening in Paris in 1904 at the famed watering hole The Lapin Agile (:the "Agile Rabbit"), a young Pablo Picasso and a young Albert Einstein and a motley crew of Parisians gather to debate and discuss science and art, love and sex. and the wonders that the burgeoning Twentieth Century has to offer--until the arrival of a mysterious stranger changes their perspective on everything. Winner of the 1996 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Play, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" is Steve Martin at his smartest and funniest.

GASTON [55-75] A frequent patron of the Lapin Agile--Parisian to the core

ALBERT EINSTEIN [25-35] Not yet the world's most famous scientist--a humble but witty patent clerk working on his Special Theory on Relativity (Requires German Accent)

SAGOT [40-60] Picasso's art dealer and mover-and-shaker in the Parisian art world---a gentleman

PABLO PICASSO [25-35] An up-and-comer in the Parisian art world on the verge of inventing Cubism--a cocky ladies-man

CHARLES DABERNOW SCHMENDIMAN [25-35]--a lunatic

GERMAINE [35-45] a waitress at the Lapine Agile and Freddy's girlfriend--nearly-always a step ahead
